A Mary A. Callen graduate, Paul Castolene went on to receive All-State football honors his senior season as captain of the Bristol High School team in 1957. He was also a standout in basketball and track.

He went on to Bates College where he continued the three sports, earning All-Maine, All-New England, All-East and Little All-American Honorable Mention honors in football.

These accolades came after breaking a number of receiving records at Bates and being the No.1 receiver in New England and 10th in the country.

Following college, he became a teacher, coach and administrator in the Bristol school system. He was involved with Midget Football and was a coach of the 1988 state championship Bristol Eastern football team.

He's served on the boards of the Bristol Boys & Girls Club and the Bristol Sports Hall of Fame.
