An outstanding track and field athlete at both Bristol Eastern and Campbell University in North Carolina, Tamara Stafford-Kirk has made her mark as the highly successful coach of Bristol Central’s cross country and track and field teams since taking the helm in 1998. She coached the Rams to the CIAC Class L Cross Country championship in 2010 and has had several top three finishes in outdoor track.

At Bristol Eastern she was a four-year track and field athlete and Class L state champion in the high jump in 1992 as well as a New England place winner in the 100 meter hurdles and the high jump. She still holds the CCC South Championship meet record in the high jump. At Campbell she was a four-time conference champion in high jump and broke the school record in the event.

As a coach, she has had numerous individual state champions as well as several relay teams that have won state and New England honors and qualified for Nationals. She has coached 45 conference championship teams in three sports and has had four athletes go on to become All Americans at the collegiate level.
