A man in a suit and tie holds a plaque that reads 'Bristol Sports Hall of Fame, Bob Fallon, Inducted 2024.'

A Massachusetts native, Bob Fallon came to Bristol to teach math at the Clara T. O’Connell School and immediately began his coaching career as coach of the 7th and 8th grade basketball team in 1964. He went on to coach freshman basketball at Bristol Central before embarking on a 23-year stint as golf coach at Central. He compiled a record of 136-85-4, and his teams won 28 straight matches in the Colonial Conference from 1981-83. His 1983 team was 19-0 and the first undefeated team in BCHS history. He was named State Golf Coach of the Year in 1989 when he coached Glen Carlson to the state tournament championship and an appearance in the National in Arizona.

In the late 1980s, he became involved in Special Olympics as a track and skiing coach. From 1993 to 2001, he served as a Certified Master Level Track Official, working at the Special Olympic World Games in 1995 and the National Sports Festival for the disabled in 1999 and 2000.

He has served on the Bristol Civitan Club and the First Bristol Federal Credit Union boards, written questions for academic bowls, and coached the Bristol Central Math Team for many years. However, he is most proud of his work with the Special Olympics and as BARC’s Board Member and treasurer.
