Fran Serratore, an educator, school principal and coach, grew up playing sports in Bristol. He earned a combined 10 varsity letters at St. Anthony and Bristol Central High Schools and was an All-Tournament selection as a member of the 1966 state championship American Legion baseball team, runners-up in New England that year. He went on to play basketball and baseball at both Quinnipiac College and Southern Connecticut State College.

He was head of the basketball program at St. Paul from 1975-1991 where he coached three All-State players. The 1986 St. Paul team finished as state runners-up while the 1988 entry won the state title. He conducted the Fran Serratore/St. Paul Basketball Clinic for years and has spoken at numerous basketball camps. His resume of sports accomplishments and participation is lengthy.
